INDICATIONS AND USAGE<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

LUCIFINE is a non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) indicated to reduce the risk of sustained eGFR decline, end stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and hospitalization for heart failure in adult patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 The recommended starting dosage is 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and serum potassium thresholds.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Increase dosage after 4 weeks to the target dose of 20 mg once daily, based on eGFR and serum potassium thresholds.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Tablets may be taken with or without food.<\/span><\/p>\n

CONTRAINDICATIONS <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Patients with adrenal insufficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Hyperkalemia. Patients with decreased kidney function and higher baseline potassium levels are at increased risk.  Monitor serum potassium levels and adjust dose as needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

ADVERSE REACTIONS <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Adverse reactions occurring in \u2265 1% of patients on LUCIFINE and more frequently than placebo are hyperkalemia, hypotension, and hyponatremia. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

DRUG INTERACTIONS <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong CYP3A4 Inhibitors: Use is contraindicated.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Grapefruit or grapefruit juice: Avoid concomitant use. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Moderate or weak CYP3A4 Inhibitors: Monitor serum potassium during drug initiation or dosage adjustment of either LUCIFINE or the moderate or weak CYP3A4 inhibitor, and adjust LUCIFINE dosage as appropriate.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong or moderate CYP3A4 Inducers: Avoid concomitant use.<\/span><\/p>\n

USE IN SPECIFIC POPULATIONS <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lactation: Breastfeeding not recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n

Store at 20\u2103 to 25\u2103 (68\u2109 to 77\u2109), excursions permitted between 15\u2103 and 30\u2103 (59\u2109 and 86\u2109) [see USP Controlled Room Temperature]. Protect from moisture. <\/span><\/p>\n
